Travel Insurance:

It is a condition for any member on this trip to be protected by adequate travel insurance covering personal accident risks (to include repatriation costs, air ambulance or helicopter rescue services where appropriate). Ensure that you are covered to the maximum altitude  of this trek (3139m) and for any activities that are part of this trip or optional activities that you intend to take part in. Please bring this insurance policy with you.

Health & Safety:

Any medication you may need must be brought from home. Be mindful of restrictions on certain medication while travelling through the Gulf region. There are NO medical facilities on the trek, and there are hospitals in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Your leader is First Aid trained and one of the Sherpas will carry an extensive First Aid Kit.

A sensible approach to dressing and behaviour in a foreign environment goes a long way and you will be able to ask questions prior to departure about any areas of uncertainty.

Your group leader is very familiar with the region, culture and its people, speaks the language and has a successful track record of leading groups out there and bringing them back, too!

Bonding, Protection and Payments:

This trip is split into two parts. Effectively you are buying a 'Flight-Only' deal from an ATOL bonded agent such as Touchdown. If you buy from the Airline itself you ought to use a credit card. You are now protected against agent/airline failure. This part gets you to and from Nepal.

The other part is the 'Land Only' package purchased in Nepal. This is NOT protected or bonded under any UK scheme. There will be NO deposits taken from you now. However, we will need to deposit some 'earnest' money at some point (45 -60 days prior to departure), as there will be no time to do any banking when we get there and we have mountains to climb! You can arrange for a transfer from your account to Nepal or pay the agent's representative here in the UK. This will be explained in more detail at a pre departure trek briefing with your leader.
